THINX

Look, if I'm going to bleed for five days, I don't want to be like a wounded animal, covering my tracks, curling into the fetal position, and lying down to die.  I want to be like Kali, the Hindu goddess of death, collecting the blood of my slain enemies.  That's why I like THINX.

If you don't know, THINX are "period proof" panties, made to allow you to do away with pads.

There are mixed reviews out there about THINX.  They certainly aren't infallible.  Everyone just needs to try out what works best for them, but, for me, it's definitely worth it.  (Quick tip, I think the high waisted ones work better than the hip huggers.)  I have several pairs now, and I'm thinking about getting a few more so I have enough to wear all week (just in case I start early) and can change into fresh ones at night.

On birth control, I only have one to two moderately heavy days per cycle.  On those days I need to wear tampons with my THINX, and I certainly need to change them by the end of the day.  But I infinitely prefer changing panties once to changing pads (that never stay in place and ruin panties anyway) all day.  If you have heavier periods than I do, I would still see them as useful for when pads and tampons still get overfull.  At least you will be leaking into panties made for that purpose.

Many days I get to go completely pad and tampon free.  That's when I feel like Kali, free-bleeding and kicking-ass.  Pads make my bloated, irritable self even more uncomfortable.  Seriously, with THIX I really do sometimes forget I'm on my period.  That is a miracle.

Plus, I really just like the company.  These are made by women, for women, and they do work to help break taboos around menstruation and help girls around the world.  You can see more about them on their website www.shethinx.com .

Excessively diverted,
BBP
